I got what I ordered exactly, which was nice. No bags missing, no wrong grind size or anything like that. The shipping box matched the receipt too, so all was good there. It’s a simple thing, but when it just shows up right, I do appreciate it.

It took them a few days to get back to me, so clearly speed was not the main feature here. But to be fair, once they did reply, they actually fixed the issue, so I guess we got there in the end.

The coffee itself is totally fine, so I don’t really have any major complaints about the taste. But once you add shipping, it gets really pricey for what you’re getting. I was kind of expecting it to feel a bit more special for the money. It might be nice as an occasional treat, but I don’t think it’s a great value for buying regularly

I kind of assumed these beans were going to be really fresh as soon as I opened the bag, but they were more just okay-fresh. Not bad or stale or anything, just not as amazing as I was expecting.

I ordered the coffee earlier in the week and kept checking the tracking, but it just sat there for a few days without moving. By the time it finally shipped and showed up, I was already frustrated. The coffee was fine, but the wait definitely took away from the experience.

There were coffee grounds spilled all over the inside of the box, which made opening it a bit of a mess. For what I paid, I expected the packaging to be more secure. They have a solid mix of beans, roast styles, single origins, and blends, so it’s easy to try something new without feeling totally lost. I appreciate that they seem to care about quality instead of just throwing a million random options at you, which feels like the right way to do it. Most of what I’ve tried has been really good, and the site is simple to browse. It’s become a nice go-to when I want something better than the usual grocery store coffee.

I used to order from Intelligentsia a lot and really enjoyed it, but lately it feels like the roast changes way too much from one bag to the next.

I’m using the same coffee, same grinder, same brew method, everything. One bag will come out sweet and balanced, then the next tastes darker, flatter, and just off. For what it costs, I don’t feel like I should have to guess what I’m getting every time.

I tried reaching out, but dealing with the automated system just made me more annoyed, like I was talking to a wall instead of an actual person. Maybe I just had a string of bad luck, but it happened enough times that I’m taking a break from ordering.
